Development Goals

The program focuses on developing students’ humanistic literacy, and the global outlook for academic research coupled with sound professional knowledge. It aims to prepare high-level innovative compound talents competent in teaching and R&D on mathematical medicine.

Research Areas

Mathematical medicine is an emerging interdisciplinary subject integrating mathematics, computer science, biology and medicine, which focuses on solving major scientific challenges in precision image analysis and intelligent diagnosis & treatment. On the foundation of level-1 subjects, including mathematics, computer science & technology, and electronic information, the college offers degree programs in the following interdisciplinary research focus areas:

1) Cutting-edge Mathematical Theory and Algorithms in Medical Imaging

2) Mathematical and Statistical Methods for Intelligent Diagnosis

3) Precision Diagnosis & Treatment Based on Models and Medical Big Data

4) Intelligent System and Sensing of Medical Equipment     

Curriculum

The curriculum consists of general degree courses, basic professional courses, professional core courses, professional elective courses, supervision training, and other degree requirements, which adopts the credit system. The basic professional courses includemodern analytical and numerical methods, methods of mathematical medicine, and mathematical medicine & artificial intelligence. The professional core courses include medical imaging, medical image analysis & deep learning algorithms, medical edge computing, biomedical informatics & statistics, medical artificial intelligence & big data. The professional elective courses include graph optimization theory & graph neural networks, big data thinking & technology, and multi-source data fusion theory & applications.
